Nataša Jović Trivić


Nataša Jović Trivić, a principal Opera artist of the National Theatre in Belgrade, was born in Banja Luka in 1973, where she graduated from elementary and high school of music.

In 1992, she enrolled in the Faculty of Music Arts, Department of Solo Singing, in the class of Professor Radmila Bakočević in whose class she graduated in 1996 and earned her master's degree in 1999. She is currently in her doctoral studies in the class with the same professor.

She is the recipient of several first prizes at national competitions and she received the second prize at the International Youth Music Competition held in Belgrade in 1998.

At the "Boris Christoff" International Competition for Young Singers held in Sofia in 2000, she won the second Jury Prize and the special prize for the best interpretation, then at the “Iris Adami Corradetti” competition in Padua held in 2004 she won the special award and at the "Rijeka Belcanto" competition held in Rijeka in 2005 she won the third place.

She is the recipient of the award from the "Danica Mastilović" Fund for the best student of solo singing, “Anita Mezetova” award for the best young opera singer and the “Biserka Cvejić” award for the best stage personality in 1997.

In 1997, she received the Commendation of the National Theatre for her role as Smeaton in “Anne Boleyn” by G. Donizetti, and in 2008 for the role of Charlotte in “Werther” by Massenet, for which she also won the Association of Musical Artists of Serbia (UMUS) Award for the best performance. From 1994 to 1996 she was a member of the Opera Studio of the National Theatre in Belgrade, during which period she played a number of minor roles. She debuted with the role of the Third Lady in Mozart's “The Magic Flute”, followed by the roles in G. Verdi: Flora – La Traviata, G. Donizetti: Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor, P. Mascagni: Mamma Lucia and Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana, G. Rossini: Tisbe in Cinderella, F. Cilea: Dangeville in Adriana Lecouvreur.

She became a permanent member of the National Theatre Opera in 1997 and she got the status of a principal opera artist in 2003.

Pergolesi – Stabat Mater (two productions), G. Mahler - VIII Symphony, Songs on the Death of Children, C. Saint-Saëns – Requiem, F. von Suppé – Requiem, A. Vivaldi – Gloria, J. Haydn – Mass in C major (Paukenmesse), M. de Falla – The Bewitched Love, M. Ravel – Shéhérazade, I. Stravinsky – The Wedding, V. Ecke – Confessions of St Anthony, Bishop Hilarion – St Matthew Passion, M. Duruflé – Requiem. 

In addition to cherishing Serbian solo songs and chamber music composed by local authors, she participated in the performance of grand vocal-instrumental works of domestic authors:

During her career, she collaborated with the following conductors: Mladen Jagušt, Jovan Šajinović, Angel Šurev, Ion Iancu, Vladimir Kranjčević, Imre Toplak, Bojan Suđić, Srboljub Dinić, David Porcelijn, Dejan Savić, Nada Matošević, Darinka Matić-Marović, Vesna Šouc, Francesco Rosa, John Wilson, Peter Leonard, Giorgio Croci, Alessandro Sangiorgi and others.
She worked with well-known directors such as: Zlatan Dorić, Borislav Popović, Nebojša Bradić, Jagoš Marković, Dejan Miladinović, Ozren Prohić ...

She has collaborated with the Serbian Broadcasting Agency music ensembles, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, Vojvodina Philharmonic Orchestra, Niš Philharmonic Orchestra, "Stanislav Binički" Serbian Army Ensemble.
She was a guest performer at opera and concert stages in Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Greece, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Denmark, Norway and Switzerland. 
She is one of the founders of the Music Opera Theatre Organisation (MOTO) devoted to the promotion of classical music, opera and theatre with the aim of making art accessible to all.
