The queen, obsessed with her own appearance, communicates with her reflection in the mirror, which puts pressure on her to be the most beautiful one. Her conflict with her stepdaughter Snow White arises because Snow White is more beautiful, but also younger than her. The queen is unable to come to terms with her age and beauty, which she cannot preserve despite her huge effort.
